Monroe 26, Chatsworth 20--Monroe quarterback Jesse Wallace rushed for 65 yards and 4 touchdowns as Monroe held off a late Chatsworth rally at Monroe.
Monroe took the lead for good, 12-7, in the second quarter after Wallace passed 50 yards to Terry London to set up Wallace’s second touchdown, a 4-yard run. He also scored on two 1-yard runs and an 18-yard dash, which gave Monroe a 26-7 lead in the third quarter.
Monroe’s Curtis Scott led all rushers with 162 yards in 22 carries.
Chatsworth fullback Jeff Jones scored two second-half touchdowns, and tailback Glenn Martin rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown in 10 carries.
