Hawthorne 33, Saugus 7--The Cougars, who held Saugus to 64 total yards, scored 17 points in the second quarter at College of the Canyons after staking the Centurions to a 7-0 lead.
Saugus took the lead on a 1-yard run by quarterback George Lopata midway through the first quarter, but the Centurions failed to cross the 50-yard line again. Hawthorne sacked Lopata 5 times for 22 yards.
