Buena 28, Newbury Park 17--Jason Isaacs completed 17 of 32 passes for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns and Tony Williams ran for 2 scores and 118 yards in only 9 carries to lead the Bulldogs at Ventura High.
After Newbury Park’s Artie Chisolm returned a kickoff 94 yards to tie the score, 7-7, midway through the first quarter, Buena took the lead for good when Isaacs hit Richard Harris with a 63-yard, first-quarter touchdown pass. Buena had opened the scoring on Isaacs’ 61-yard touchdown pass to Jim Collins.
Williams added a 33-yard, second-quarter touchdown run and closed the scoring with a 17-yard, third-quarter touchdown.
