THE COLLEGES : Orange Coast Beats Fullerton in Cross-Country

Marcial Beltran of Fullerton College won the 4-mile race in 21 minutes 26 seconds at Central Park in Huntington Beach but Orange Coast defeated Fullerton, 25-32, in an Orange Empire Conference cross-country race Friday.

OCC was led by Brad Sigler, third in 21:59; Mike Marckx (fourth, 22:17), Chris Hobson (fifth, 22:17); Chris Parmer (sixth, 22:24), and Joel Hunt (seventh, 22:27).

In the women’s race:

Orange Coast 15, Fullerton 50--Linda Villa of Fullerton won the 5,000-meter race in 22:00. The Pirates were led by Linda Howard (second in 22:13); followed by De De Maher (22:57), and Desiree Brock (fourth in 23:23).
