The former girlfriend of Hector Lopez, 1984 Olympic boxing silver medalist for Mexico, has returned home safely after Lopez allegedly kidnaped her at gunpoint from her Glendale home.
Norma A. Gomez, 24, returned home in a taxi, relatively unharmed except for a bump on her head and a bruise on her arm, said Dean Durand of the Glendale Police Department. Police are still searching for Lopez, 21.
“The investigation is continuing,” Durand said. “Just exactly what will be filed against him, I don’t know.”
Durand said Gomez and Lopez spent one night in Los Angeles and another in Orange County, mainly driving around and discussing their relationship. Gomez told police Lopez was angry because she recently ended the relationship.
Lopez allegedly broke into Gomez’s home late Sunday night, punched and kicked her father, hit a family guest in the head with the butt of a revolver and forced her out of the house.
