Kennedy 41, Canoga Park 19--Quarterback Tony Smets completed 15 of 17 for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for another score to lead the Golden Cougars at Kennedy.
Kennedy jumped to a 20-0 first-quarter lead as Smets completed 6 of 6 for 83 yards and a touchdown. He also scored on a 1-yard run.
Canoga Park closed to within 20-13 on an 8-yard touchdown run by Jason Mitchell with 5 minutes left in the second quarter. Mitchell finished with 143 yards and 2 touchdowns in 21 carries.
But Kennedy roared back and moved to a 35-13 lead in the third quarter when Antiwaun Carter scored from 5 yards. Carter finished with 119 yards in 22 carries and also caught 4 passes for 78 yards.
Canoga Park quarterback David Erhardt completed 13 of 25 for 189 yards and 1 touchdown.
