Packers Say That Mossy Cade Is Welcome to Rejoin Team

The Green Bay Packers announced Wednesday that defensive back Mossy Cade, paroled from prison after serving 15 months for second-degree sexual assault, is welcome to return to the team if the National Football League approves.

The Packers said that Cade, 26, would be allowed back, starting with next season’s training camp.

His agent, Randy Rueckert, said Cade was disappointed he would not be able to return to the NFL immediately. Rueckert said he is “trying to work something out” so that Cade can play this year.

Cade was convicted last year and sentenced to 2 years in jail on 2 counts of second-degree sexual assault involving a 42-year-old aunt by marriage at his suburban Green Bay home in 1985.
