Bakersfield 59, Pierce 0--Pierce’s problems in its first season back after a 2-year layoff were magnified against the state’s second-ranked team in the game at Pierce College.
Bakersfield quarterback Stan Greene completed 9 of 18 for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns and running backs Maceo Barbosa and Reggie Yarbrough each ran for 2 scores as the Renegades took a 38-0 halftime lead.
The Renegades amassed 464 total yards while holding the Brahmas to 187.
