HIGH SCHOOLS : Roundup : Coronado Will Make the Move to City Central

Share

Principals from the City Conference voted unanimously Thursday to allow Coronado High to join the City Central League. Now the move must be approved by the San Diego Section Coordinating Council on Jan. 11.

Coronado would leave the 3-A Metro Conference and will make City Central a eight-school league, seven schools in boys’ sports; Our Lady of Peace is an all-girls’ school.

According to Wayne DeBate, secondary athletics manager for San Diego City Schools, Coronado was accepted into the league in all sports and may have to compete freelance in football in 1989 if Coronado can’t fill its schedule for the football season.
