Cypress College Forfeits Basketball Victory

The Cypress College men’s basketball game has to forfeit a victory for using an academically ineligible player this season, the college announced Monday.

Rodney Mattear, a 6-foot 6-inch forward, was found to be academically ineligible. He has left the team.

Cypress has to forfeit an 87-78 victory over Elgin, Ill., Nov. 18 in the Cypress tournament. Cypress’ revised record is 2-4.
