Newbury Park 60, Calabasas 49--Wayne Cook continued his torrid shooting for Newbury Park (4-0), scoring 34 points in the nonleague victory.

Kennedy (La Palma) 53, Canyon 50--Mike Peppengil scored 22 points and Jim Barker added 15 as Kennedy made a second-half comeback. Kennedy, which trailed by as much as 10 in the first half, outscored Canyon, 35-16, in the second half.

Canyon’s Jamil Austin scored 12 points and Darren Oldenberg hit 3 three-pointers.

Oakwood 51, Campbell Hall 43--Forward Mitchell Butler scored 31 points and grabbed 20 rebounds for Oakwood in the second round of the Buckley tournament.

Chaminade 73, Moorpark 49--Chris Bruckner scored points and pulled down 20 rebounds and Pete Miller added 16 points to lead the Eagles in the second round of the Faith Baptist tournament.

Keith Orford led Moorpark (0-3) with 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Musketeers were eliminated.

CITY SECTION

Taft 64, Narbonne 55--The Toreadors outscored Narbonne, 18-4, in the fourth quarter to record a come-from-behind nonleague win.

Trailing by 5 after 3 quarters, forward Tony Middleton had consecutive steals to spark the rally. The Toreadors (3-0) recorded 6 steals in the fourth quarter.

Granada Hills 105, Hamilton 70--Five players scored in double figures as the host Highlanders rolled to a nonleague win.

Granada Hills (2-1) was led by Alvin Brown, who scored 20 points.

Kennedy 62, Reseda 46--Junior forward Garrett Anderson scored a game-high 21 points and teammate Randy Brown added 20 to lead Kennedy (2-1) to the nonleague win at home. Coley Kyman had 20 for Reseda (0-3).

Eagle Rock 60, Sylmar 52--Michael Epps scored a game-high 35 points in a nonleague game. Andre Robinson led Sylmar (2-1) with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

North Hollywood 73, Canoga Park 38--Center Dana Jones led all scorers with 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the nonleague game at North Hollywood.

Harry Marks added 11 points for North Hollywood (3-0).

University 99, San Fernando 66--San Fernando committed 24 turnovers in the nonleague game.

University (3-0) made 25 of 41 shots in the first half to take a 58-34 lead. Lance Whittaker scored 15 points and Earl Garnett added 14 for San Fernando (1-2).

Chatsworth 55, Birmingham 54--Glenn Sucich hit a 3-point shot with 30 seconds left to bring the Braves to within 1 point but missed a last-second half-court shot in the nonleague game at Birmingham.

Poly 67, Monroe 61--Monroe led after every quarter but was outscored, 18-10, in the final period.

Scott Cooper scored a game-high 31 points for Poly (1-2). Kenyon Wright scored 20 points to lead Monroe (1-2).
