College Basketball : HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT

Canyons 83, Moorpark 81--Aaron Clark scored 9 points in a 3-minute span, providing College of the Canyons with enough cushion to weather a late Moorpark rally in the second-round consolation-bracket game at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.

Clark’s spurt helped the Cougars build an 81-72 lead with 3 minutes remaining. Moorpark made the final score close by employing a full-court press that resulted in 3 turnovers and a 9-2 rally before time ran out.

Clark led all scorers with 21 points and teammate Larry Allbritton had 21. Roger Thomas led Moorpark with 18 points.
