Crash Fatal to Man

A 20-year-old San Diego man was killed Saturday morning when his car collided with a pickup truck that had run a red light in Pacific Beach, police said.
Matthew Volk was driving his Volkswagen bus north on Ingram Street shortly after 8 a.m. when he was struck by the pickup driven by Rauelo Gerado, 26, Sgt. Bill Edwards said.
According to police, Gerado--eastbound on Grand Avenue--was going 50 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone when he crossed the intersection.
As of Saturday afternoon, Gerado, who was not hurt, had not been charged in the case, Edwards said. An investigation is continuing.
