From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson’s former trainer was arrested on drunk driving and other charges after he allegedly hit another car on a Manhattan street, then scuffled with two officers, police said.

Kevin Rooney was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest following the fender-bender about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Peter Sweeney said.

Rooney was turning south onto Second Avenue at 35th Street in his 1989 Blazer when he allegedly hit a 1987 Oldsmobile driven by Andrew Rosenweig of Nyack, Sweeney said. No one was injured in the accident.
