Loyola Hits Road to Play U.S. International

Loyola Marymount’s basketball team will play its last nonconference game at 7:30 tonight against U.S. International at the San Diego Civic Center.
The Lions (6-5), who are averaging 111.5 points and have four starters averaging double figures, have scored as many as 151 against USIU in recent seasons. Center Hank Gathers has averaged nearly 40 points over the last 4 games.
USIU (6-10) is averaging 79 points a game but is allowing an average of nearly 89. The Gulls also have four starters averaging double figures, led by guard Paul Wilson at 16.2 and forward Gary Williams at 15.8.
