Chris Smith scored midway through the second half to give Corona del Mar High School a 2-1 victory over University Wednesday in a Sea View League boys’ soccer match played at Corona del Mar.

Smith got the ball on a breakaway, beat the goalie and the wind and kicked into an open net.

“He kicked it after he beat the goalie at the edge of the penalty box, and the wind was so fierce that the kick barely trickled in,” Corona del Mar Coach John Connelly said.
