Streaking Agoura to Meet Santa Clara for 1st

After winning only 2 of its first 8 games Agoura High’s basketball team is surging, and second-year Coach Kevin Pasky has been left slightly puzzled.

The Chargers have won 4 consecutive Frontier League games and enter tonight’s home game against Santa Clara with a chance to move into first place.

“It beats the heck out of me,” Pasky said when asked to explain the reasons for the streak. “I wish I knew. I don’t think it’s anything special. But we are starting to play with more intensity over a longer period of time.”

Santa Clara has not been challenged in 6 league games, but the prospect of playing the Saints does not seem to worry Pasky.

“I’m looking forward to playing Santa Clara,” he said. “The two games against Santa Clara and the two against Calabasas are my favorite games every year. I’m really using that as a motivating thing.”

A note of caution: Santa Clara beat Agoura, 68-55, the first time around.
