Mel Sims Applies for Coaching Job

Mel Sims, an assistant at Cal State Fullerton under former basketball coach Bobby Dye, has applied for the basketball coach’s job, several sources said.

Sims, who also has coached women’s teams, unsuccessfully sought the Fullerton women’s coaching job when it was given to Chris Gobrecht before the 1979-80 season.
