The Preps : Saddleback No. 1 in Final Prep Poll

Saddleback High School received all seven first-place votes and finished the regular season as the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll.

The Roadrunners, 24-1, have won 19 consecutive games heading into the Southern Section 5-AA playoffs. Mater Dei, with its only two losses coming against Saddleback, finished second, followed by Capistrano Valley, which was top-ranked in the preseason poll.
