Duquesne Coach Jim Satalin, under fire for a recent nine-game losing streak, withheld meal money to punish his players after road losses and violated NCAA rules by trying out players, according to published reports.

In Sunday’s editions of the Pittsburgh Press, former players and coaches described Satalin as an indifferent recruiter and poor communicator who encouraged unproductive players to leave his program.

Duquesne, which has won two straight games since ending its losing streak Thursday, is 10-14.
