“Anytime you win an away game, it’s a good result,” Torrey Pines Coach Dennis Costello said. “The girls did an excellent job.”

Fourth-seeded Mira Mesa defeated Torrey Pines, 2-0, earlier this year.

Torrey Pines advanced to Wednesday’s semifinal against top-seeded Bonita Vista, a 4-0 winner over Mt. Carmel. Torrey Pines defeated Bonita Vista earlier this year, 2-0.

“It’ll be a good game,” Costello said. “It’s always a good game when we play.”

For the first time all season, Torrey Pines is suiting up its full roster of 16 players.

“We haven’t played well due to injuries and sickness, but at least everyone was there (against Mira Mesa),” Costello said. “It was something to see. I had forgotten some of the girls’ first names.”
