‘Drug-Deal Victim’ Kidnaps Woman
A 23-year-old East San Diego woman was kidnaped Wednesday afternoon near San Diego State University and, with a gun pointed at her head, was ordered to drive for almost an hour by a man who claimed to have been victimized by “a drug deal gone bad” and needed to find his car, police said.
The woman told San Diego police she was walking from campus to her car in the 5500 block of Hardy Avenue when a man walked up, wielding a semiautomatic handgun.
The man said, “Get in the car or I’ll kill you,” the woman told police.
She said she followed the man’s “continuous and disorganized directions” until he ordered her to pull over at Jamacha Road and Gustavo Street in El Cajon. After a brief struggle, police said, the man headed north on Jamacha on foot.
He was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jacket, brown pants and red tennis shoes, police said.
