Moorpark 11, Cuesta 2--Steve Sisco’s three-run, third-inning home run broke a 1-1 tie as the Raiders cruised in the Western State Conference game at Moorpark.
Darren Romano had three doubles and Darren Aurand, Craig Pearson and Darin Furlong each hit triples for the Raiders (12-5, 2-1). Pearson and Lloyd Wood each drove in two runs for Moorpark, which collected 16 hits.
College of the Canyons 20, Santa Barbara 17--The Cougars rallied from a seven-run deficit and pounded out 16 hits off four Santa Barbara pitchers in the WSC game at Santa Barbara.
Canyons (8-7, 2-1) snapped a 14-14 tie with four runs in the eighth, sparked by Gary Morgan’s three-run home run. Ross Linstrom hit a two-run home run in the ninth to pad the Cougars’ lead.
Santa Monica 6, Pierce 4--Billy Morris went four for four but the Corsairs scored three runs in the fifth inning and two in the sixth to clinch the WSC game at Santa Monica.
The Master’s 11, UC Riverside 5--Jeff Preston and Pete Wilson each hit two-run home runs for Master’s in the nonconference game at UC Riverside.
Leading, 3-2, after one inning, Master’s blew the game open in the second inning with a four-run outburst.
Wilson was three for three with two RBIs and three runs scored, and Preston was three for five with an RBI and four runs scored.
Cal State Northridge 5-1, Cal State Dominguez Hills 1-0--Debbie Dickmann pitched a two-hitter in the first game and Heather Lindstrom pitched a three-hitter in the second as Northridge (15-8, 4-0) swept the CCAA doubleheader at Dominguez Hills. Dickmann (10-3) struck out seven and walked one in the opener and Lindstrom (4-2) struck out four and walked one in the second game.
Valley 66, Mt. San Antonio 38--Mike Lucero won the 200 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke to lead the Monarchs in the nonconference meet at Valley. Lucero posted times of one minute, 50.7 seconds in the 200 freestyle and 2:25.9 in the 200 breaststroke.
