High School Roundup : El Toro Wins in Softball, 15-0

Paige Lauvy hit and pitched El Toro High School to a 15-0 victory over Perris in the first round of the Corona softball tournament Wednesday at Butterfield Park in Corona.
Lauvy pitched a one-hitter, striking out 14. She also had four hits and four RBIs for the Chargers.
In nonleague softball:
Laguna Beach 6, Newport Harbor 4--Sue Gunderson had a solo home run to lead Laguna Beach (3-0) at Newport Harbor.
Villa Park 14-11, Fullerton 5-2--Stephanie Wills had six hits and Anne Salzman drove in five runs as Villa Park (4-1) swept at Hart Park in Orange.
In nonleague golf:
Brea-Olinda 214, Orange Lutheran 263 (9 holes)--Kevin Clayborn shot an even-par 37 to lead the Wildcats (3-0) at the Imperial golf course.
Canyon 195, El Dorado 211 (9 holes)--John Gorsdi shot a par-36 to lead Canyon (1-1) at the Anaheim Hills golf course.
Corona del Mar 191, Capistrano Valley 218 (9 holes)--Steve Dana shot a 2-over-37 to lead Corona del Mar (2-0) at San Juan Hills golf course.
El Toro 189, Woodbridge 225 (9 holes)--Rob Halsum shot a par-36 to lead El Toro (5-0) at the Rancho San Joaquin golf course.
Sunny Hills 197, Estancia 200 (9 holes)--Joon Lee shot one-under 35 to lead Sunny Hills (3-1) at Los Coyotes Country Club.
Valencia 400, Esperanza 412 (18 holes)--Chris Tridlind and John Dauphis each shot par-72 at the Yorba Linda Country Club and the Tigers (2-0) won their 39th consecutive match.
In nonleague boys’ swimming:
Orange 118, Santa Ana 29--Matt Maresh won the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes 20.55 seconds) and the 100 butterfly (1:06.01) to lead Orange (3-0) at Santa Ana.
In nonleague girls’ swimming:
Orange 120, Santa Ana 27--Christy Jacobs won the 50 freestyle (30.23) and 100 butterfly (1:21.79) to lead Orange (3-0) at Santa Ana.
Tustin 83, Villa Park 72--Shannon Quinn won the 200 individual medley (2:21.1) and the 100 backstroke (1:05.9) to lead the Tillers at Tustin.
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
El Toro 14, Edison 4--Chris Brown won, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, as the Chargers (4-0) swept singles play at Edison.
Mission Viejo 18, Laguna Hills 0--Dave Allen and Vince Cheng won their doubles sets, 6-3, 6-2, 6-0, to lead Mission Viejo (4-0) at Laguna Hills.
Saddleback 14, Trabuco Hills 4--Sung Chi swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, to lead Saddleback (2-1) at Coto de Caza.
Sonora 15, Katella 3--Matt Rice won his singles sets, 6-0, 6-1, 7-5, to lead the Raiders (4-1) at Sonora.
University 14, Foothill 4--Steve Lappin swept his singles sets, 7-6, 6-2, 6-0, to lead the Trojans (1-0) at University.
In nonleague volleyball:
Esperanza 3, Los Amigos 0--Rocky Jones had seven kills as the Aztecs (2-1) swept, 15-2, 15-2, 15-3, at Los Amigos.
Marina 3, Laguna Hills 0--Duane Cameron had 13 kills and eight blocks as the Vikings swept, 15-3, 15-8, 15-8, at Marina.
