San Pasqual 10, El Cajon Valley 5--Mike Escarcega was two for five with an RBI for San Pasqual. Escarcega is 22 for 30 (.733) with 10 RBIs for the season. The Eagles’ Jimmy Clayton had two RBIs, and Tim Young (2-1) was the winner.

USDHS 5, Hilltop 2--USDHS juniors Mike Rood, Vince Guerrero (1-0) and Gary Remiker (third save) combined for a two-hitter against Hilltop (2-6). David Sanchez had two hits and an RBI for the Dons (7-1).

Castle Park 9, Fallbrook 2--Chris Morris went three for three, including a home run, and scored three times for the Trojans.

Grossmont 4, Serra 3--John Tatum hit a two-run double in the fourth and then scored the winning run when Jim Earley doubled him in to cap a three-run inning.

Valhalla 7, Torrey Pines 5--Jon Scurlock went two for two with two RBIs for the Norsemen, who also benefited from 10 walks issued by three Torrey Pines pitchers. John Lynch was two for three with three RBIs for Torrey Pines.

Lions AAA Division

Point Loma 5, Poway 4--Jose Beltran tripled in the tying run in the seventh, then scored the winning run when Marcus Brown singled.

Poway took a 4-1 lead in the second as Chris McDermott delivered a grand slam. Beltran and Larry Kirkpatrick hit bases-empty homers for Point Loma.

Sweetwater 9, Morse 8--Sweetwater’s Joe Gonzales singled in Demoier Crowter to tie the score in the seventh, and the Red Devils won it with a three-run eighth as Pateros Woodsen doubled in Crowter and Juan Lopez.

San Dieguito 5, Mira Mesa 4--Mike Henry hit a double and scored two runs for San Dieguito (7-2-1). Teammate Justin Machado had two singles and an RBI. Rod North (2-0) was the winner. Eric Martinez struck out 13 in six innings for Mira Mesa (7-2).

Patrick Henry 7, Orange Glen 3--Shannen Webb was three for three with a double and two singles for Patrick Henry. Shannon Vinje was two for three with two singles for Orange Glen (4-6).

Mt. Miguel 7, Montgomery 4--Gene Ethridge hit a two-run triple to contribute to Mt. Miguel’s five first-inning runs. Doug Kemp had two hits and an RBI for Mt. Miguel (2-8), and teammate Keith Baldwin hit a single, a double and scored twice.

Santana 13, Southwest 3--Catcher Lance McCLure had five RBIs with a single and a three-run homer for Santana. Matt Hill did not give up an earned run.

Monte Vista 7, Chula Vista 1--Vern Mullis collected two home runs and a double in three at-bats and drove in five runs to lead Monte Vista. Armando Navarro hit a homer for Chula Vista.

Granite Hills 8, San Diego 4--Jeff Waymire connected for a three-run homer to spark a four-run uprising in the first inning for Granite Hills. Shane Spencer went the distance.

Lions A Division

St. Augustine 12, Ramona 7--The Saints scored 11 runs on eight hits in the sixth against Ramona (4-2) at Kearny. Jim Bitler went three for three, scored three times, had three RBIs and stole a base for St. Augustine (4-4). Eric Dent (2-1) earned the victory and was two for three with two runs.

Mission Bay 7, Mar Vista 2--Tom Lafever (1-1) pitched 6 2/3 innings in relief, allowing just one hit, for Mission Bay (6-2). Tony Lennan went two for two with three RBIs and two runs, and Pat Betancourt had a double, a triple, two runs and an RBI for the Buccaneers.

Kearny 3, Coronado 2--Dominic Dirksen went two for four with a double and an RBI to lead the Komets.

Oceanside 15, Francis Parker 5--Angel Torres and Andrew Acevedo each went two for three for Oceanside.

Crawford 6, Julian 2--Dan Murphy hit a home run in the fourth inning for Crawford (7-2). Murphy was two for three. The Colts’ Josh Neil was one for three with two RBIs. John Hockin was two for three with an RBI for Julian (2-4), and Jesse Hayner two for three.

El Camino 9, La Jolla 6--El Camino got nine hits in the first three innings while building an early 8-3 lead. Ricky Spears hit a solo home run in the first for the Wildcats. Gary Frank went two for two with a triple and four RBIs for La Jolla.

Escondido 5, Marian 0--Escondido (5-3) started off with four runs in the first inning. Marian is 2-6.

Orange Glen tournament

Madison has the advantage going into today’s final rounds at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. The Warhawks routed El Capitan, 10-1, in their only game Tuesday. El Capitan now must beat Ocean View in a semifinal scheduled for 10 a.m. to get another crack at Madison in the 2 p.m. championship game. If Madison, unbeaten in the tournament, loses at 2, a second championship game will be played at 4.
