Southern Section Baseball Playoffs : Tustin Hits Early, Often in 10-3 Victory
Tustin High School’s baseball team used 14 hits to defeat Palmdale, 10-3, in a Southern Section 3-A quarterfinal game Friday at Palmdale.
Shawn Green and Erik Grove each had three hits and a run batted in and Phil Filbert had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for Tustin (20-8).
Palmdale (14-10) was held in check by winning pitcher Monte Jones (12-2) and reliever Danny Baker, who combined for a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
Tustin will face Kennedy in the semifinals Tuesday.
