Four County Players Picked for All-Star Team
Four Orange County high school baseball players have been selected to play for the California senior all-star team, which will play all-star teams from Oklahoma and Florida beginning Friday at Oral Roberts University.
Pitcher Pete Janicki of El Dorado, catcher Rob Ickes of Mater Dei, shortstop Phil Nevin of El Dorado and outfielder Chris Sheff of Laguna Hills will participate in the four-day, round-robin tournament. First baseman Rob Milo of Laguna Hills was selected as an alternate.
La Quinta’s Dave Demarest will coach the team. The California all-stars open play against the Oklahoma all-stars Friday and then play a doubleheader on Saturday.
