Chong’s Four Hits Lift Woodland Hills to Pair of Victories
Chae-Ho Chong collected three doubles and a triple in four at-bats, drove in a pair of runs and scored twice to lift the Woodland Hills Astros to a 10-1 second-game win and a sweep of the San Fernando Eagles in a Collegiate League doubleheader Saturday.
Chong’s Cal State Northridge teammate, Denny Vigo, slammed a three-run home run in the Astros’ 13-4 first-game win.
Keith Nicholson, who played five years in the Detroit farm system, picked up the win in the second game, pitching four innings of relief.
Three pitchers combined on a four-hitter to shut down San Fernando in the second game and the Eagles collected just 10 hits on the day.
