Firefighters from San Diego and Poway, assisted by aircraft from the U.S. Forest Service and California Department of Forestry, extinguished a blaze Wednesday that burned 15 acres of brush in Poway, authorities said.

The fire, which did not destroy any structures, was declared contained at 3:35 p.m., almost two hours after it was reported. No injuries were reported.

Fire authorities were investigating the cause of the blaze, which occurred near the 14600 block of Bowdoin Road.

Enlisted to battle the fire were 20 engines from San Diego and Poway, along with one firefighting helicopter and one airplane from the U.S. Forest Service, and three planes from the CDF.
