THE BOTTOM LINE
The Denver Broncos today signed seventh-round draft pick Melvin Bratton to a one-year contract after resolving a dispute over the length of the pact. Broncos General Manager John Beake said Bratton received a salary comparable to a mid-round pick and a hefty incentive package. The terms of the contract were not disclosed. Bratton, the all-time leader in career touchdowns at the University of Miami, injured his knee in the 1987 Orange Bowl, and that kept him out of action last year.
