Pierce Enlists Norton to Further Its Rebuilding Process in Football
Bill Norton, an assistant football coach at Glendale College last season, has been hired as offensive coordinator at Pierce College.
Pierce Athletic Director Marian McWilliams introduced Norton at a press conference Thursday. Norton, 42, also will fill a full-time teaching position in the physical education department.
Norton, who is credited with resurrecting high school football programs at Torrance Bishop Montgomery (1977-83) and Palmdale (1984-86), will get a similar opportunity at Pierce, which reinstituted its program last season after a two-year hiatus.
Pierce won three consecutive conference titles before budget cuts forced the elimination of its program in 1986. The Brahmas were 1-9 last season.
