Soccer Roundup : Trinidad and Tobago Knocks Off Guatemala, 1-0, and Passes U.S.

Henry Jamersson scored 11 minutes into the second half Sunday as Trinidad and Tobago beat Guatemala, 1-0, in a World Cup qualifying match at Guatemala City.
Trinidad (2-1-3) has seven points with two games remaining in the double round-robin qualifying. The United States (2-1-1) has five points with four games remaining.
Costa Rica (5-2-1) completed play in the North and Central American and Carribean region with 11 points and is virtually assured of a spot in the 1990 World Cup. Guatemala is 1-3.
At Sao Paulo, Brazil, Careca scored four goals to lead Brazil’s 6-0 victory over Venezuela. Silas also scored and Venezuela’s Williams Pacheco accidentally knocked the ball into his own net for a Brazilian goal.
Brazil (2-0-1) has five points with one game remaining. Venezuela (0-3) was eliminated.
At La Paz, Bolivia, William Ramallo snapped a 1-1 tie eight minutes into the second half after a long pass from midfielder Erwin Romero, giving Bolivia a 2-1 victory over Peru.
Colombia defeated Ecuador, 2-0, when Arnoldo Iguaran scored twice at Baranquilla, Colombia.
