Prep Roundup : Savanna Girls Edge Buena Park in Tennis

The Savanna High School girls’ tennis team defeated host Buena Park, 10-9, on Friday in a nonleague match that was decided by a tie-breaker.
The match was tied at 9 at the end of play, but Savanna won the tie-breaker by winning more games within the matches, 79-75.
Cindy Kuragami, who was undefeated in the Orange League last year, swept her sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for Savanna (1-0).
In other nonleague tennis:
Corona del Mar 14, Valencia 4--Christie McClintock swept her matches, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1, to lead host Corona del Mar.
El Toro 13, Trabuco Hills 5--Michelle Micone and Jenny Sher led a sweep in doubles as host El Toro won, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.
Rosary 14, Orange Lutheran 1--Mandy Gomez, the No. 1 singles player, swept her matches, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, to lead Rosary at the Fullerton Community Center.
Marina 10, Long Beach Wilson 8--Tracy Crisell swept singles, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, to lead host Marina (1-0).
In water polo at the Valencia tournament:
Valencia 12, Laguna Beach 7--Jeff Myers scored five goals, helping host Valencia advance to the semifinals. Canyon plays Whittier at 8 a.m., and Valencia plays Esperanza at 9 a.m. in the other semifinal match.
Saddleback 13, Trabuco Hills 4--Senior Erek McCord scored four goals, junior Don Vu scored three and Majid Ahmadi had 10 saves at Canyon.
