Nearly a month after winning the American Legion World Series, the honors keep pouring in for Woodland Hills West.
On Tuesday, the team will be honored at a banquet sponsored by the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce and next Saturday it will be introduced at Dodger Stadium before a game against the San Diego Padres.
Next month, as part of the World Series championship booty, Woodland Hills players and coaches will attend two World Series games at whichever site is closest to Southern California.
Invitations are rolling in, too. The team has agreed to play in the World Youth Baseball Classic in early June in Binghamton, N.Y., according to Coach Don Hornback, who will take over the team next season. Also scheduled to appear in the tournament are Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and Gonzales, La., teams West defeated en route to the Legion championship.
