Buena Park Breaks Its Losing Streak by Beating Magnolia
Buena Park High School stopped an eight-game losing streak dating to 1988 with a 14-0 victory over Magnolia on Thursday at Western High School.
Buena Park (1-2) completed its scoring in the first minute, five seconds of the first quarter.
Buena Park went 59 yards in eight plays with running back Malcom King scoring on a one-yard run with 4:16 left in the first period.
On the ensuing kickoff, Buena Park recovered a Magnolia (0-3) fumble at the Magnolia 21. Two plays later, Buena Park’s Mark Medellin threw 10 yards to tight end Bryan Baylor for the second touchdown with 3:11 left in the first quarter.
The Buena Park defense held Magnolia to 20 yards in the first half and minus-14 yards rushing in the second half.
