Strike Ends Late in Beverly Hills; P.V. Gets Forfeit
- Share via
Beverly Hills High School Principal Ben Bushman said Wednesday that the Norman football team has forfeited Friday’s Bay League game with Palos Verdes, marking the third consecutive week the school has forfeited because of the district teachers strike.
Because of an agreement to allow Palos Verdes time to set up a homecoming carnival in lieu of the game, Beverly Hills needed to inform Palos Verdes by noon Wednesday whether it would play.
Even though a settlement was reached in the strike Wednesday afternoon, it occurred after the deadline.
Beverly Hills had also forfeited games to Santa Monica and Hawthorne.
The victory will give Palos Verdes a record of 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the Bay League heading into its regular-season finale Nov. 9 at Rolling Hills.
