Trabuco Hills Holds Off Woodbridge, 33-20

Trabuco Hills High School ran up a 33-0 lead, then held to defeat Woodbridge, 33-20, Friday night at Irvine High School.

Ben Rooker got Trabuco (7-1, 4-0 in the Pacific Coast League) on the scoreboard with a 23-yard touchdown run six minutes into the game. After Mark Florence recovered a Woodbridge fumble less than two minutes later, Trabuco made it 13-0 when quarterback Tim Manning hooked up with Greg Hughes on a six-yard scoring pass.

Manning ran 40 yards for the next Trabuco score, and Brent Roper's PAT put Trabuco up by its 20-0 halftime margin.

Trabuco scored twice more after the intermission before Woodbridge (3-5, 1-3) was able to get its offense going.

After Eric Lekas returned a fumble 75 yards for a score, Woodbridge began to dominate play. Scott Seymour ran three yards for a touchdown and caught a 70-yard pass from Gary Fishel in the game's final minute.
