John McEnroe beat Jimmy Connors Tuesday night for his second exhibition win in two nights over his longtime rival.

McEnroe used his only service break of the match to clinch the victory before 6,821 fans at the San Diego Sports Arena in a charity event. In a Monday night match in Los Angeles, McEnroe recorded a 6-4, 6-4 triumph.

Connors had four break points in the third game of the final set with a chance to go ahead, but McEnroe eventually prevailed in the game that lasted 18 points, the longest in the match.

The two players joked throughout the match, and at one point, each even played a sample point on their knees. That point, which didn’t count in the match, was decided when Connors used his head to send the ball over the net.
