San Pedro 31, Sylmar 17--Despite losing 17 players to academic ineligibility, host San Pedro (5-5) ended Sylmar’s season.
San Pedro quarterback Arnie Madrid led all rushers with 130 yards in 11 carries, including touchdown runs of 38 and 22 yards.
Sylmar tailback Jerome Casey opened the second half with a 93-yard kickoff return to bring the Spartans (7-3) to within 14-10. Casey, in his last high school game, gained 109 yards in 17 carries despite missing most of the second half because of leg cramps.
