Rimer Selected for Tennis Post at Occidental

Tina Rimer, former University of Arizona tennis player, has been appointed women’s tennis coach at Occidental.

Rimer, a four-year varsity player, has coached tennis, soccer and softball at several Southern California high schools, including Crossroads and Roosevelt.

Rimer currently is tennis director of Encino Camps and clinic specialist at the Racquet Centre in Studio City.

Aimee Kravette of Van Nuys won a silver medal in the World Professional Figure Skating Championships in Jaca, Spain, on Dec. 5-7.

Kravette, 28, a native of New Jersey, began skating at age 2 and has competed professionally since 1980. She finished second in Jaca to Lori Benton of San Diego.

Registration for this spring’s tee-ball, baseball and girls’ softball leagues will be held at Woodland Hills Park on Feb. 3.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. for baseball and co-ed tee-ball. The fees are $60 for tee-ball and $70 or $75 for various baseball divisions. Tee-ball registration is open to players aged 5 to 8. Baseball is for players aged 9 to 15.

Girls’ softball registration, for players aged 9 to 15, begins at 9 a.m..
