Dick Motta, 58, an NBA head coach for 19 seasons before his retirement in 1987, may be the leading candidate as the head coaching job of the Sacramento Kings, according to two of the individuals who have been interviewed for the job.
Although the Kings have interviewed John MacLeod, Mike Schuler and Bob Weiss, they haven’t been able to decide on a successor to Jerry Reynolds, who will become player personnel director. MacLeod and Weiss said they believe Motta may be the No. 1 choice.
