BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Conlisk, Los Alamitos Hold Off Western

Robert Conlisk scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds to lead Los Alamitos High School to a 66-64 victory over Western Wednesday in a boys’ nonleague basketball game at Los Alamitos.

Los Alamitos led by five points with about two minutes to play, but Western rallied. The Pioneers cut their deficit to 66-64 in the final 20 seconds, but never touched the ball again.

Jason Cunningham had 12 points and six assists for Los Alamitos. Sam Sabbara scored 14 for Western.

In other nonleague games:

Long Beach Jordan 61, Marina 39--Marina led, 31-30, after three quarters but was outscored in the final quarter, 31-8. Cherokee Parks led Marina with 19 points.

Tustin 72, Trabuco Hills 63--Dave Beilstein and Phuong Tran had 20 points each for host Tustin (12-2). Bo Hossler had 21 for Trabuco Hills.

Millikan 67, Huntington Beach 53--Mustapha Abdi had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Huntington Beach (7-7). James Maddred led all scorers with 20 points for Millikan.

Mater Dei 73, Palisades 49--Reserve David Boyle ignited a third-quarter rally by scoring 11 of his game-high 26 points as Mater Dei (13-1) overcame a lethargic first-half performance. Boyle scored 26 points in 21 minutes and snapped a three-week shooting slump by making 11 of 16 shots.

Servite 60, Burroughs 47--Mike Coady had 17 points and Steve Marusich 16 to lead host Servite (8-6).

Canyon 71, Anaheim 50--Abdi Barkhordar had 23 points and Kevin Wilborn 15 to lead Canyon (7-7). Danny Castro had 18 points for Anaheim, which had three technical fouls.

Cypress 72, Westminster 69--Jason Perrotto scored 22 points for visiting Cypress (7-7). Jessie Gomez and Eden Yawata had 16 each for Westminster (6-7).

Sonora 62, Orange 55--Roy Park and Scott Oxarart each had 12 points to lead host Sonora (5-8). Greg Farlow added 11 for Sonora, which outscored Orange, 28-13, in the second half. Orange’s Carlos Duran had a game-high 19 points.

El Modena 56, Magnolia 45--Jeff Leedom had 16 points and Gregg Gottlieb 15 to lead host El Modena (8-6). Wayne Thomas had 16 points for Magnolia (2-8).

St. Margaret’s 76, Midway 49--Ryan Westendorf scored 28 points and had 18 rebounds and Dann Campaine added 22 points and 17 rebounds for visiting St. Margaret’s (6-4).

Newport Harbor 63, Foothill 55--Paig Parish scored 20 points and Eddie Martinez 19 for visiting Newport Harbor. The Sailors led after three quarters, 47-46, and outscored Foothill, 16-9, in the final quarter. Mark Wilkinson scored 25 and Fred Amos 13 for Foothill.

University 87, Santa Ana Valley 74--University (5-7) made 27 of 40 free throws as Santa Ana Valley (3-7) was called for 51 personal fouls. Klaus Perwas scored 31 points for University.

El Dorado 86, Sunny Hills 57--Guard Mike Bradach scored 29 points as visiting El Dorado handed Sunny Hills its 10th loss in 12 games. Dominic Carnesi had 24 points for Sunny Hills.

Estancia 60, Costa Mesa 41--Guard Augustin Heredia scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter when Estancia (9-4) opened a 20-8 lead.

Dana Hills 62, La Habra 31--J.B. Taylor scored 16 as Dana Hills (12-3) won at home. James Klegg, one of La Habra’s top players, was ill and didn’t play. Mark Moreno scored 13 for La Habra.

Mission Viejo 71, Woodbridge 58--Eric Cramer scored 19 and Mark Wright 16 for host Mission Viejo (9-4).

In the Garden Grove League:

Rancho Alamitos 89, Kennedy 72--David Green had 25 points and eight assists to lead Rancho Alamitos (7-3, 1-0). Paul Preuss had 17 points for Rancho Alamitos. Rod Rosales had 12 points for Kennedy (3-6, 0-1).

Pacifica 62, La Quinta 58--Randy Schulze scored 15 points and Tim Wahen 14 for visiting Pacifica (3-6, 1-0). Dusty DePree scored 19 and Walter Dawkins had 10 points and seven assists for La Quinta (0-9, 0-1).

Bolsa Grande 61, Los Amigos 58--Eddie Benson had 16 points in a losing cause for Los Amigos.
