NFL Officiating: It’s Not Full-Time Work
A question for those football fans clamoring for full-time officials in the NFL: What are they supposed to do--sit around from Sunday to Sunday reading the rule book? Baseball umpires and NBA refs work several games a week, so they have to be full-time employees. NFL crews know their jobs and the rules, so let them keep their regular jobs, banish instant replay and everything will be OK.
