PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : La Quinta Girls Blank Kennedy

Stephanie Stucker, daughter of La Quinta High School Coach Jim Stucker, scored two goals as La Quinta defeated Kennedy, 2-0, Tuesday in a Garden Grove League girls’ soccer match at La Quinta.

Stucker is La Quinta’s scoring leader with 14 goals this season. Goalkeeper Shawnae Aguilera had 10 saves and has yet to allow a goal in three league matches for the Aztecs (7-3, 3-0). Kennedy is 2-1 in league play.

In Century League girls’ soccer:

Villa Park 1, Foothill 1--Elizabeth Green scored for Villa Park and Kathy Schortall scored for host Foothill (4-8-1, 0-1-1). Villa Park is 6-5-3, 1-0-1.

In the Empire League:

Esperanza 1, Los Alamitos 1--Michelle Arullo scored for visiting Esperanza (18-2-1, 3-0-1) with 20 minutes remaining to tie the score. Laura Brun scored in the first half for Los Alamitos (8-3-2, 2-0-2).

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 5, Savanna 1--Carrie Lewis scored twice to lead visiting Brea-Olinda (5-7-2, 2-0). Elice Crowder, Sandy Tennison, and Jenni Watkins also scored for the Wildcats. Denise Morales scored for Savanna (0-2 in league play).

In the Olympic League:

Santa Margarita 3, Capistrano Valley Christian 0--Allie Werve, Erica Gambale and Jamie Braun each scored for Santa Margarita (6-0-3, 4-0-2) at home. Goalkeeper Charlene Naughton had two saves for the Eagles.

Orange Lutheran 8, Brethren 0--Turi Jacobs and Amber Parkinson scored three goals each for visiting Orange Lutheran (8-2-2, 3-1-2). Brandi Yates scored the other two goals for the Lancers.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Trabuco Hills 4, Woodbridge 1--Linda Lunceford scored two goals, her 23rd and 24th of the season, for host Trabuco Hills (12-4-1, 2-0-1). Kristin Lowery and Corrie Conklin also scored for the Mustangs. Tina Hall scored for Woodbridge.

In the Sea View League:

Newport Harbor 1, Estancia 1--Danielle Straub of Estancia scored with 10 minutes left to tie the score at Estancia. Meghan Stickler scored for Newport Harbor (3-6-2, 0-1-2).

University 10, Saddleback 1--Shana Novegrod and Kelli Kynoch scored two goals each for host University (6-4-3, 2-0-1). Kathleen Pitchess, Sandra Brishka, Heather Podlich, Carrie Caposino, Carolyn Griffin and Danyelle Lesch each scored one goal for University.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 4, Capistrano Valley 1--Molly Sullivan, Jenny Koenig, Amy Kroeger and Kristin Bye each scored for host Dana Hills (14-2-1, 3-1).

In the Sunset League:

Edison 2, Ocean View 1--Alysson Gibbs and Jennifer Lachman scored in the first half for host Edison (9-3-4, 4-0). Christie Engesser scored for Ocean View.

In Angelus League boys’ soccer:

Servite 1, Bishop Amat 1--George Charlesworth tied the score with 10 minutes remaining in the first half for visiting Servite (7-9-1, 2-0-1).

Eric White scored for Bishop Amat (1-1-1 in league play).

In Freeway League boys’ soccer:

Sunny Hills 4, Troy 0--Derrick Roselli had two goals and Bobby Magnussen and Matt Marino each had one for Sunny Hills (10-2-2, 3-0) at home. Goalkeepers Mark Ackerman, who had four saves, and Ryan McCormick combined for the shutout. Troy is 2-5-1 and 2-1.

La Habra 3, Buena Park 1--Joseph Sciabica scored three goals to lead host La Habra (5-6-2, 1-2). Louis Moise scored for Buena Park.
