University 54, Corona del Mar 24--Denise Gandara had 21 points and 14 rebounds for University (13-4, 3-1) in a game at Corona del Mar.

Newport Harbor 60, Saddleback 52--Forward Stacey Giem scored 30 points for host Newport Harbor (6-9, 2-2). Giem, who also had eight rebounds and four assists, scored 14 of her points in the fourth quarter, as Newport Harbor overcame a five-point deficit and outscored Saddleback, 22-9, in the final period. Janet Chacon scored 23 points for Saddleback (7-8, 2-2).

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 108, Anaheim 12--Jinelle Williams had 30 points to lead host Brea-Olinda (19-0, 4-0). Tammy Blackburn had 16, Allison Bickel had 15, Cathy Lewis scored 14 and Jody Anton had 12. Freshman Angie Hanes had 10 points.

Brea-Olinda has won 41 straight to tie Gahr for second in Southern Section history (Riverside Poly won 84 in a row from 1978 to 1982). Anaheim had only one point in the second half. Each Brea-Olinda player was in only four minutes at a time, and the starting five never played at the same time.

Valencia 57, Savanna 48--Forward Hollie Keeton had 23 points and Cathryn Sweet added 13 for host Valencia (9-8, 4-0). Carrie Frederick had 30 points for Savanna, which trailed throughout.

In the Century League:

Canyon 60, El Modena 56--Dee Moore had 24 points and Sheri Rhyne had 16 points for Canyon (8-5, 3-2). It was a two-point game until Cenetha Thomas converted two free throws with 40 seconds left to put Canyon up, 58-56, and converted two more 10 seconds later to lift Canyon, which had three starters foul out. Thomas had six points for the game.

Foothill 53, Santa Ana 25--Heli Syrjanen had 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Sandi Rasmussen added 13 points and Kelley Green had 10 to lead Foothill (10-8, 5-0) in a game at Santa Ana. Gracie Lopez had 13 for Santa Ana.

In the Olympic League:

Santa Margarita 40, Capistrano Valley Christian 28--Kristen Mulligan had 25 points and Jenna Ricker had 12 rebounds and four points to lead Santa Margarita (10-6, 5-2). Carrie Shannon had 13 points for Capistrano Valley Christian (6-8, 4-3).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Orange 62, Costa Mesa 53--Nicole Champion had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Ginnie Hall scored 19 points for host Orange (11-5, 3-1). Guard Laurie Salinger added eight points and a school-record 11 assists for Orange. Costa Mesa, which trailed throughout the game, was led by Olivia DiCamille with 18 points.

Woodbridge 65, Laguna Hills 31--Leslie Rathbun scored 19 points and had six steals and seven assists to pace Woodbridge (13-4, 4-0) in a game at Laguna Hills. Also playing key roles for Woodbridge were Tami Williams with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 11 steals, and Deanna Harry with 11 points and 21 rebounds.

In the Sunset League:

Edison 55, Westminster 45--Laura Vinch had 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead visiting Edison. Debbie Fisher added 13 points for Edison (12-6, 2-3). Cindy Yoshizaki had 13 points for Westminster, which is 0-5 in league play.

Ocean View 75, Marina 52--Jenny Sullivan had 30 points and 20 rebounds and Tracy Wolfe had 22 points for host Ocean View (20-1, 4-0). Melisa Sortino had 25 points for Marina (14-5, 3-1).

Fountain Valley 54, Huntington Beach 36--Julie Workman had 22 points and Jennifer Barbaro had 17 to lead host Fountain Valley (12-7, 2-2). Clare Walker had 11 points for Huntington Beach (8-11, 2-3)

In the Angelus League:

Bishop Amat 57, Mater Dei 53--Marie Persell had 15 points to lead Bishop Amat at Mater Dei (6-11, 3-2). Zsuzsi Burkhalter had 13 points for Mater Dei.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 52, Irvine 41--Erin Schimeneck had 23 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Keri Regier had eight points and three offensive rebounds to lead visiting Dana Hills (12-7, 2-3).
