COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Golden West Extends Lead on Orange Coast

Sophomore forward Claudette Jackson scored 28 points to lead Golden West College to an 86-49 victory over Orange Coast College in an Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball game Friday at Golden West.

Jackson was 10 of 11 from the field and had 15 rebounds as Golden West (26-1 and 7-0 in conference play) opened a two-game lead over OCC (24-5, 5-2). The Rustlers took a 26-6 lead on the way to a 48-23 halftime lead.

Shawna Armstrong scored 14 and Stacee Johnson 10 for Golden West. It was the third time Golden West has defeated Orange Coast this season.

Saddleback 83, Cypress 24--Shannon Garnos scored 25 points to lead visiting Saddleback (12-12, 3-4). Maria Guerrero added 22 for Saddleback. Janet Rudner scored 10 and Tami Bartley had 15 rebounds for Cypress (0-21, 0-7).
