Mission Viejo 77, J.W. North 62--Mission Viejo overcame its sluggish first half with an 18-2 third-quarter run at Mission Viejo. Trailing 32-30, Mission Viejo (19-6) held J.W. North to two points over the next 7:13. A three-point basket by Eric Cramer gave the Diablos a 48-34 lead with 22 seconds left in the quarter.
Mission Viejo led by as many as 16 points in the fourth quarter.
Cramer, a senior forward, scored a game-high 26 points for the third-seeded Diablos. Greg Amaya added 21 points and eight rebounds and Mike Boucher had 18 points for Mission Viejo.
Terreno Butler scored 22 points and Peter Graf had 15 for J.W. North. North an at-large entry finished the season at 9-13.
Bishop Amat 61, Canyon 58--The teams were tied, 49-49, after three quarters, then Bishop Amat outscored Canyon, 12-9, in the final quarter. J.D. Ramero scored 21 to lead Bishop Amat (15-11). Geoff Kordik had 16 points for Canyon (14-11).
