Cerritos 75, Esperanza 69--Senior guard Walter Forcatto led Esperanza with a game-high 24 points, including a pair of three-pointers, in the school’s first playoff appearance since the 1981-82 season.
Junior forward Joe Foss added 21 points for Esperanza. Matt Thimgan scored nine points and Aztec point guard Brett Evans added seven.
The Aztecs finished the season 16-11.
Guard Scott Day scored 18 points to lead visiting Cerritos (21-5), the second-place team from the San Gabriel Valley League.
Cerritos also got 17 points apiece from junior center Mark Flick and sophomore forward Scott Williams. Williams added 13 rebounds.
