DIVISION I

San Diego 78, San Dieguito 61--Clark James led the fourth-seeded Cavers with 32 points and 20 rebounds at San Diego. Also for San Diego, Jerome Allen scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Matt De la Pena (25) and Brian Malewicz (16) combined to lead San Dieguito.

Patrick Henry 65, Castle Park 57--Castle Park had four players score in doubles figures. Unfortunately for Castle Park it had only five players score in the game. Butch Reese scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Patrick Henry (22-4). Danny Kotnik added 13 points for the Patriots.

DIVISION II

San Pasqual 69, Mission Bay 45--San Pasqual won despite playing without Erik Meek, the second-leading scorer in the county, and having its No. 2 scorer play just 14 minutes because of foul trouble.

Meek sprained his ankle Friday against Ramona and won’t know until today if he will be able to play Friday against Crawford in the quarterfinals.

“Obviously, with an injury like that it’s going to take a couple of weeks to heal,” San Pasqual Coach Tom Buck said.

Bryan Banner, the team’s No. 2 scorer, got into foul trouble early and spent most of the game on the bench. Richard Stark (15 points) and John Koser (14) picked up the slack for San Pasqual (19-5).

Gebel Anderson and Chris Smith had 12 points apiece for Mission Bay (4-17).

Crawford 74, Grossmont 71 (OT)--Crawford senior Tracy Halton, playing in a knee brace, celebrated his first game since Christmas-time by scoring 14 points, three in overtime, to help lead the Colts at home.

Halton was averaging 26.5 points a game before he suffered a knee injury and has been watching from the bench since December. One of his field goals traveled three-quarters of the length of the court, giving Crawford a five point halftime lead.

Grossmont missed the second end of a one-and-one to send the game into overtime.

Marc Carter led the Colts (18-8) with 34 points and 23 rebounds. Grossmont was led by Kevin Simon’s 34 points. Grossmont ended the season with a 13-10 mark.

Helix 49, Serra 47--With the game tied at 47 and 10 seconds left in the game, Henry Lundy grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to give Helix the victory at home. Lundy led Helix with 17 points. Teammate Lloyd Lake added 16. For Serra, who was outscored, 12-6, in the second quarter, Desi Dixon had 19 points.

Torrey Pines 89, Hoover 53--Torrey Pines’ press helped force 30 turnovers and the top-seeded Falcons routed visiting Hoover (5-20). Bill Schiebe scored 14 points and Bart Brandenburg added 13 for Torrey Pines (25-3), which led, 45-23, at halftime.

DIVISION V

Christian 96, Julian 36--Tony Clark had 46 points to lead five Patriots in double figures as Christian (14-11) won easily at home and advanced to the quarterfinals. Clark, who also had 15 rebounds, six blocks and six steals, scored 16 points in the first quarter as Christian built a 28-3 lead.

Travis Denmark had 12 of Julian’s first 13 points and finished with 25, including seven three-pointers. The Eagles finished 6-17.

La Jolla Country Day 98, Tri-City Christian 52--Damian Campbell and Larry Cheng each scored 21 points to lead La Jolla Country Day (18-7). Teammate Eric Vandenberg added 18 points. La Jolla Country Day, which led, 47-26, at halftime will play Christian Friday.

Marian 61, Calvin Christian 49--Marian had three players scoring in double figures--JaMarr Brown (19 points), Richard Carreon (13) and Joe Lagula (12). Marian (9-15) led, 34-22, at halftime.

Bishop’s 70, Victory Christian 43--Brian Aalbers scored 22 points had 10 rebounds and Graham Guess scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds for Bishop’s (22-4). Victory Christian only trailed by one point at halftime but Bishop’s outscored Victory Christian, 24-6, in the fourth quarter.
