Culver City 2, Hart 2--Culver City advanced on total bases in a semifinal game of the El Segundo tournament at Culver City that was called after eight innings because of darkness.

Culver City tied the score, 2-2, with two out in the bottom of the seventh against Andrew Lorraine, who struck out 12 and walked six in 6 2/3 innings. Lorraine, a senior left-hander, struck out two to open the seventh, then issued a walk and a double to tie the score. Hart is 3-0-1.

Crespi 5, Cerritos 5--Crespi advanced to the third-place game of the El Segundo tournament on total bases in a game at Valley College that was called after seven innings because of darkness.

Brodie Van Wagenen, Vic Seper, Scott Barton and Chris Maurizi each had two hits for Crespi (2-1-1), which outhit Cerritos, 11-4.

Burroughs 11, Long Beach Poly 2--The Indians (1-3) scored seven times in the second inning to back a combined seven-hitter by Rob Wood and Mike Ewalt to win an El Segundo tournament game at home.

Millikan 9, Simi Valley 3--Tyler Nelson and Joe Gordon each homered for Simi Valley (3-2), but Omar Diaz hit a three-run home run off James Diaz to key a five-run Millikan rally in the sixth in an El Segundo tournament game at Simi Valley.

The home run was Gordon’s fifth of the week.

Saugus 9, Muir 5--Kyle Lonsberry and Jeff Albert each had two-run singles to key rallies for host Saugus (2-2) in an El Segundo tournament game at Saugus.

Chris Hernandez (1-0) pitched four innings, striking out four and allowing just three earned runs. Jaimie Riggio pitched two shutout innings for the save.

Chatsworth 6, University 4--The semifinal game in the Westside tournament at University was called because of darkness in the bottom of the seventh with one out, one run in and the tying run at third. Because the inning was not completed when the game was called, University’s run was wiped out.

Chatsworth (5-0) will play Camarillo for the Blue Division championship today at 2:30 at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Westwood. Terry Powell hit two solo home runs and Nestor Martinez and Reed MacMackin each had two hits for Chatsworth.

Channel Islands 20, San Pedro 1--Manuel Padilla doubled twice and allowed three hits over six innings to lead Channel Islands (4-0) in a Red Division semifinal game of the Westside tournament at Channel Islands. The Raiders will play Chaminade in the final today at 11 a.m. at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

Padilla (1-0) struck out three and walked two. Jimmy Davis and Richard Tepezano each had three hits and drove in three runs.

Alemany 12, Venice 7--Greg Thompson and Kirk Fellows hit home runs and Gabe Villasenor had two hits and drove in four runs for host Alemany (2-2) in a Westside tournament game.

Joey Rosselli (2-0) struck out nine in four innings. Rosselli added two hits and teammate Scott Goldsmith had three hits.

Buena 9, Notre Dame 8--Ryan Denger was four for four with two home runs to lead Buena in a Westside tournament game at Buena.

Left fielder Bruno Paniccia was three for four with two steals for Notre Dame (1-3), which blew a 7-2 lead. Chris Prince added two hits for Notre Dame.

Canyon 16, Harvard 3--Ben Ealy and Steve Mann each hit two-run homers to lead the host Cowboys (2-2) in a Westside tournament game at Canyon.

Montclair Prep 11, Huntington Park 1--First baseman Andy Shaw went three for four with a triple, a double and four RBIs to support the pitching of Russell Ortiz (1-0) in a Westside tournament game at Huntington Park.

Ortiz surrendered just three hits in six innings, striking out seven and walking two for the Mounties (3-1). J. T. Billingslea went two for four with three RBIs and Leland Sparks had three hits and scored three runs.

Sylmar 9, Hueneme 1--Danny Garcia and Danny Martinez combined on a six-hitter in a Westside tournament at Sylmar. Robert Garcia was two for three and Joe Contreraz was two for four with a home run and four RBIs for Sylmar (3-2).

St. Bernard 6, Rio Mesa 5--Carlos Rios had three hits and drove in two runs, but host Rio Mesa (2-2) came up short in a Westside tournament game. Rio Mesa’s Dave Soliz had three hits and an RBI and Dmitri Young had two hits and scored three runs.
